General Electric uses an in-pack game decoder piece and the excitement of the 2006 Winter Olympics to drive consumers online.
GE used the excitement of the 2006 Olympic Games and a trip to Turin, Italy, to motivate consumers to select GE light bulbs over the competition. An in-pack game decoder was held up over a scrambled online image to reveal a unique code, which when entered, displayed a contest result message.
