Save Mart, Lucky Supermarkets Give Customers Shot at $2 Million with College Basketball Bracket Promotion
(Modesto, CA – March 14, 2008) Save Mart Supermarkets is giving customers at its Lucky and Save Mart stores the chance to dribble away with $2 million by playing in its College Basketball Madness contest.
To play in the college basketball prediction contest, consumers need only to log onto www.luckysupermarkets.com or www.savemart.com sometime during the evening of March 16 through March 20, register, and select their tournament picks. Contestants can return to the online game sites as often as desired to see how they are fairing during the tournament. A $1 million prize will be awarded to any customer who has a perfect bracket selection. Contestants also have the chance to win a $1 million bonus prize tied to the championship game. In addition, gift certificates totaling $1,000 will be awarded to the top 10 finishers.
"We are excited about this promotion because it enables us to offer our customers the chance to win a huge, life-changing money prize," notes John Kelly, VP of Marketing for Save Mart Supermarkets. "It also gives us the opportunity to connect with our customers through a fun, interactive experience that is tied to one of the most-watched sports events around, while building an email database."
The College Basketball Madness promotion, which is open to legal residents of Northern California and Northern Nevada who are age 18 and older, is being advertised through store circulars and in-store POP displays. The online game is being administered by SCAinteractive, an online promotional services company that specializes in the development, security, administration, and hosting of contests, sweepstakes and games. SCAinteractive, a subsidiary of SCApromotions, is also handling the $2 million promotional risk coverage.
SCAinteractive and Graham Group Promotions team up to take packaged good promotions to the next level
(Dallas, TX – January 4, 2007) – SCAinteractive, a leading online promotional services company that specializes in security, administration, and hosting of large-scale contests, sweepstakes and games, is taking packaged good promotions to the next level by teaming up with Graham Group Promotions, a packaged goods promotional company that owns a proprietary patented FDA-approved printing process.
The companies will combine the proven, proprietary coupon insert material technology Graham Group Promotions provides to packaged goods companies with an interactive online game that gives consumers the chance to win a spectacular prize covered by SCAinteractive. The instant win game will be delivered through a unique promotion code printed on the coupon.
"What this gives packaged goods companies is an interactive, integrated marketing solution that drives Web traffic and enables them to connect with their customer base," notes Mark Edmondson, Director of Business Development for SCAinteractive. "When consumers go online to play the game, packaged goods companies can drive them to their corporate site first to reinforce their brand and promote other products. They can also require consumers to register before playing for the chance to win – giving them the ability to capture valuable customer information for ongoing marketing efforts."
While the promotions SCAinteractive and Graham Group Promotions offer are all customized to meet the unique needs of their clients, the program objectives remain the same. A special offer coupon – such as 75 cents off the next purchase – is inserted into a dry, wet or vacuum-sealed packaged goods product. The coupon utilizes Graham’s patented FDA-approved process, allowing it to actually touch the product without contaminating it. Along with the savings, consumers who purchase the product are given the chance to win a life changing prize such as $1 million or a new house by going online to the designated URL, entering the unique promo code, and playing the instant win game.
The game is managed by SCAinteractive, as are all the online components – including game development, rules, registration and bonding, security, management, contingency prizing and grand prize coverage.
"We can design the online sweepstakes or instant win game to meet the unique needs and budget of the company we are working with," notes Edmondson. "And we oversee the promotion from start to finish – providing brand managers with a complete turnkey solution."
"This is a fantastic joint venture that combines the efficiencies and strengths of each company to offer packaged goods companies a powerful new promotional tool that will drive positive sales results long after the initial promotion ends," adds Jim Graham, president of Graham Group Promotions. "It’s a fresh approach that takes a proven promotional technique and makes it great by leveraging the power of the Internet."

McDonald's delivers on all fronts with integrated campaign
To build an unprecedented communications hub for their Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest tie-in promotion, McDonald's® and its agency turned to SCA Promotions, the leading provider of prize coverage for promotions, contests, and games. For the first time ever, SCA Promotions' technology arm, SCAinteractive, is enabling an interactive instant win promotion that receives entries across multiple channels including IVR (Interactive Voice Response), SMS (Short Message Service / Text Messaging), and Online. This record-breaking promotion more than doubled expectations in terms of volume of plays.
"This hub takes game play requests and relays results in real time through each channel, utilizing a single storage area network to capture and record all relevant play data," said Steve Dersch, Sr. Planner for SCAinteractive. "By enabling entry via each of these channels, SCAinteractive's technology gives McDonald's® maximum reach with this one-of-a-kind interactive promotion. Typical programs feature one entry channel only, which limits the environment in which consumers can interact with a brand. For McDonald's® and Disney, no matter who or where you are, as a consumer you can interact with the promotion, resulting in a favorable experience and impression of both McDonald's® and Disney."
SCAinteractive has developed and is hosting four multilingual Web sites for the promotion. The main site features a Flash-based game where consumers spin a "captain's prize wheel" for a chance to win daily prizes such as a Volvo automobiles, Sony PSPs, iPod Prize Packs, Magellan® Roadmate™ products, movie soundtracks, and much more.
SCAinteractive also customized the game site to have a "night-time" look and feel in the evenings to tie in with the extra "late-night code" offer. To increase late-night sales at McDonald's®, consumers receive an extra game code between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. which makes them eligible for a special prize drawing at the end of the promotion.
CAPMA crowd stunned with $50,000 winner
$50,000 Cash Awarded to Promotion Agency Representative at the Annual CAPMA PROMO Awards!
SCA Promotions Covered the Promotional Risk and Paid the Cash Prize
TORONTO, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, the Canadian Association of Promotional Marketing Agencies, (CAPMA) partnered with Dallas-based SCA Promotions to add a little promotion of its own during the annual CAPMA PROMO! Awards. In an effort to increase attendance and add sizzle to the awards, the promotion paid off big ... $50,000 to be exact. All nominees received the chance to win up to $100,000 cash. Almost 500 were in attendance at this year's event to honor the best in Canada's promotional marketing.
The High Fives Game was simple and provided a game-show style format. One attendee was randomly selected from entries as the participating finalist. Erin Howes, Account Executive for B-Street Communications, Inc., was given 40 sealed Money Bags™ (security sealed envelopes). On the prize board were four possible prizes -- $100,000, $50,000, $5,000, or $500. The participant was asked to open as many Money Bags as needed until she reached five of a kind. With two $100,000, three $5,000, three $500, and four $50,000 prize messages opened, Erin opened her 13th Money Bag -- her lucky number -- and revealed the fifth $50,000 prize message!
"This win will change my life immensely; and I will never be able to show how much I truly appreciate it," said Erin Howes, Account Executive of B- Street Communications, Inc. "I still don't really believe it!!!"
"Erin was ecstatic, as well as everyone watching," said Christine Bennett, Sr. Account Manager for SCA Promotions. "It is always great to see a promotion light up a crowd, especially when the crowd is in the promotion industry." Christine Bennett and Jackie Walker of SCA Promotions worked with Garo Keresteci, CAPMA President, to design the game-show style event.
"Over the last 20 years, SCA has seen many of our sponsors have awe-inspiring results just like this evening," said Bennett."
